AMiT secures another major contract

AMiT, spol. s r.o. is a major contributor to the implementation of the ČD 182 project by supplying its electronics. The project involves 182 new Viaggio Comfort cars of the Siemens Mobility – Škoda Transportation consortium, intended for České Dráhy.

For AMiT, this is the second delivery of electronic components for Viaggio Comfort cars for the above-mentioned consortium.

AMiT will supply all components of the passenger information system, reservation system, audio solution and WIFI. In addition, MVB components and a multimedia system that will operate, for example, a children’s cinema.

Specifically, this includes on-board computers, HMIs, recording units, audio converters, ambient microphones, UIC audio gateways, intercoms, TFT panels, OLED reservation displays, LED panels, communication converters, MVB gateways, multimedia servers, display units for the children’s cinema, LTE/WiFi routers and access points for high-speed wifi.

AMiT will supply the electronics for all 182 vehicles, comprising a total of 20 nine-car interoperable non-traction units. These units will be deployed by the Czech national carrier České Dráhy on national and international routes. 2 separate cars will be delivered to the Správa železnic for testing.

Basic characteristics of the Viaggio Comfort nine-car non-traction unit :

  • maximum operating speed 230 km/h
  • 99 seats in 1st carriage class
  • 456 seats in 2nd carriage class
  • 18 seats in the restaurant compartment
  • space for transporting bicycles
  • large air-conditioned interior
  • wheelchair-accessible, wide open passage between the carriages
  • wireless mobile phone chargers in 1st class
  • 230V sockets and USB connectors for powering passengers’ portable electronics
  • WiFi wireless data network for internet connectivity, including an on-board entertainment and information portal
  • electronic audiovisual information system with LCD monitors and electronic reservation system
  • children’s cinema

Phased deployment will take place between 2024 and 2026.
