On April 1, 2025, RegioJet successfully began transporting passengers in newly delivered Elf 655 electric units from PESA Poland in the Prague Integrated Transport (ROPID) region.<\/span><\/p>\n

This project was significant for AMiT for several reasons. The first was the relatively complex delivery of the system, where our direct customer is Ledatel, which integrated the IS and CCTV and supplied PESA in Poland, where these units were also designed and manufactured. PESA manufactured a total of 16 cars for the operator RegioJet, which will regularly transport passengers in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. There were countless requests and opinions on what the final product should look like during the project, so a huge thank you goes to the Analytics Department and Project Management Department for their dedication in communicating with all the companies mentioned above. Thanks to this project, AMiT has established a large number of new contacts.<\/span><\/p>\n

An interesting feature of the information system’s component structure is that the central control unit of the entire system is the APTXA010B unit. This computer with a 10.4″ touchscreen and a 4-core ARM A53 processor offers an incredible leap forward compared to the previous generation of processors. The control computer starts up to half as fast, offers higher processor performance, and paradoxically consumes less energy. This has allowed us to reduce the size of the passive cooling system and thus reduce the mechanical installation of the entire unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The same ARM processor core was used in the AIPQXA series of interior TFT displays, which are naturally faster, more powerful, and feature a high-quality LCD panel with Full HD resolution. AMiT uses this technology to present information to passengers in a highly professional and high-quality manner and, if necessary, can also display video advertisements, for example.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another significant milestone was technological innovation. The ISC-RJLD-655 project implemented a connection to the Smart Prague data platform \u2013 Golem.io. Using this data, our information system is able to display information to passengers about connecting services or transfers at other stations. This innovation required a major effort from our software development team at the end of March. In a very short time, it was necessary to implement a new web API interface and also resolve the security aspects of this communication.<\/span><\/p>\n

This project also successfully followed up on the previous ISC-RJLD project (654 series electric units), where we implemented the world-renowned MQTT protocol known from the IoT world for the first time. Using this protocol, we exchange diagnostic information, door status, and emergency brake activation information with Ledatel’s higher-level system, which then activates special screens on our IS with emergency information.<\/span><\/p>\n

The complete delivery also includes LED panels, a complete audio system, i.e. an audio digitizer, intercoms, an ambient microphone, and new powerful RRAM-PWA\/C1 audio amplifiers. Features such as interference suppression, parameter setting via SNMP interface, and various reporting targets are a matter of course for AMiT. Also worth mentioning are the RRAM-MCT\/E30-A5 UIC control panels, which serve as a backup in this project in case of Ethernet vehicle data network failures.<\/span><\/p>\n

The audio system is connected to a blind navigation system, also supplied by AMiT, which helps blind passengers find their way around the train and its surroundings. Visually impaired passengers can use their personal, standardised transceivers to have audio announcements about the line number and final destination played over the external loudspeakers. Inside the train, they can request a repeat of the announcement about the next station if they missed the automatic announcement.<\/span><\/p>\n
