Panel Computers are most commonly used as visualization and control devices (HMI) for the train driver’s workstation (part of the driver’s console). The main task is to ensure comfortable and reliable display of necessary information for the train driver or crew under all lighting conditions and to provide smooth control of essential functions such as the information system, diagnostics, supervisory control, or camera system.

Panel computers are also used as part of the onboard passenger information system (ISC) at the service panel level for vehicle crew.

Vehicle Computers can generally be used to provide supervisory control functions for rail vehicles, including diagnostics.

These computers are designed based on Intel or ARM architectures, depending on the application and customer requirements. They use Intel BayTrail processors and can run most operating systems (typically Windows Embedded Standard 7, Linux).
